Graduated at Bachelor of Physics from the Federal University of Pernambuco - Department of Physics (1995), master's degree at Physics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1998), PhD in Computer Science at Center for Informatics of Federal University of Pernambuco (2006), pos-doc fellow Harard University and visiting professor of Institute for Applied Computational Science at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is currently a full professor at Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. It is one of the founders of the Graduate Program in Applied Informatics UFRPE, where he was the coordinator from 2011 to 2019. He is also a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Biometry and Applied Statistics and the Graduate Program in Applied Physics, both at UFRPE. He has experience in the area of Computer Science and Physics, with emphasis on artificial intelligence, quantum computation and scientific computing, acting on the following topics: time series forecasting and anlysis, computational modelling, Intelligent hybrid systems, search algorithms, machine learning, artificial neural networks, econofísca, quantum algorithms, and astroinformactics.
