Graziela Schneider Urso is a researcher, translator, and teacher. She is doing a BA in Ancient Greek and developing postdoctoral research in Modern Greek Studies at the Graduate Program in Literature and Language Studies, Rio de Janeiro State University ('Literature as a means of teaching and learning Modern Greek for Brazilian students'). She has a BA in Russian and Portuguese (2004), MA (2010) and PhD. (2016) in Russian Literature and Culture (University of São Paulo). Worked in the areas of translation and interpretation for the World Social Forum (2003-2005), and European Social Forum (2003-2008), in Athens and Malmö, collaborated with Babels Network (2004-2008) and The World March of Women (2005-2008), and was a Temporary Professor of Russian Language and Literature at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2014-2016). Currently, she gives courses and lectures, conducts research and translation projects, mainly related to the modern Greek language, literature, and culture. Her main areas of interest are modern languages, literatures, and cultures, with an emphasis on modern Greek, Russian and Slavic studies; Translation Studies; Comparative Literature and Literary Theory; Cultural Studies; Linguistics; Portuguese as a Foreign/Additional Language; Women's History; Gender; migration and refugee studies; autobiographical studies.
