I am graduated from Agronomia by the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) (1992), master's at Forest Resources and Forest Engineering by the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) (1995), and Ph.D. at Botany by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (2001). I coordinated the master and Ph.D. program in Applied Ecology, Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), from 2008 to 2011. I am a full professor at the Federal University of Lavras, where I was contracted in 1998. I have ample supervising experience in two graduate programs: Applied Ecology and Forest Engineering. I have experience in Botany, focusing on Taxonomy of the Flowering Plants, and Plant Ecology, acting on the following subjects: community and population structure, seasonal forests, floristic composition, community, and population dynamics and conservation. At this moment, I have a strong research focus on biodiversity conservation on farmlands, looking at how farmers and farming activities impact the existent biodiversity, and how the remnant natural elements in the properties affect the biodiversity by providing habitat and connectivity. I have extensive experience with publishing and a large portfolio of approved research grants with state and private agencies. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
