Brenno holds a degree in Biological Sciences from UNICAMP and has been dedicated to scientific research since 1996. He began as a FAPESP Scientific Initiation fellow (1996-2000) in the field of Phytopathology (EMBRAPA Environment) and later focused on studying human metabolism, including obesity, the effects of bariatric surgery, type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, pancreatic beta-cell function, and the action of incretin hormones. He has specialized in Exercise Physiology and Biochemistry at UNICAMP and in Clinical Trials at the University of Pisa, Italy, where he also completed a PhD in Physiology, studying the mechanisms involved in the remission of type 2 diabetes in non-obese patients. Currently, he is an assistant researcher at Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
