Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1992), Master's degree (1996) and PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (1998). Pos doc of Sucest, a sequencing project for the sugarcane genome (Saccharum spp). I work since 2000 at Bayer Crop Science, a division focused on agriculture and nutritition, with responsibilities in various technical sectors and in the management of business and people. I participated in Alellyx, a company incorporated by Bayer, responsible for the characterization of GMOs and the development of traits. After the acquisition I led teams of scientists in the development of new transformation technologies and in the commercial transformation of sugarcane. Since September 2016 I lead the research and development center of Petrolina. Through more than 100 direct people and a total of more than 800 people the unit develops new maize and soy, produces tens of thousands of experimental hybrids and performs the integration of native and biotechnology traits into elite maize and soy genotypes. Finally, the Unit carries out the initial steps in the production of genetic seed to meet the entire Brazilian maize market. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
