Celso José Bruno de Oliveira graduated (1998), master's (2001) and doctorate (2005) in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences of Jaboticabal (FCAV-UNESP), with a thesis in the area of #8203;#8203;mitigation of Salmonella enterica in pig production. He held a sandwich doctorate at the Higher School of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover (TiHo), Germany, during the period from 2004 to 2005. He holds a Postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Animal Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), from 2014 to 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Bryan White in the area of #8203;#8203;microbiome in production animals, genomics and bioinformatics.He is a Full Professor at the Department of Animal Science, Center for Agricultural Sciences at the Federal University of Paraíba (CCA/UFPB), where he is responsible for the disciplines Food Safety and Technology of Products of Animal Origin along with undergraduate courses in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He is a permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Animal Science (PPGZ/UFPB/UFC) and the Graduate Program in Animal Science (PPGCan/UFPB), where he teaches disciplines in the area of #8203;#8203;molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics applied to animal production and food safety. He advises master's and doctoral students and develops research and development activities in the area of #8203;#8203;safety and quality of food of animal origin and mitigation of zoonotic pathogens in animal production systems, with a focus on poultry and goat farming, which represent high economic and social importance for the State of Paraiba.He is coordinator of the Laboratory for the Evaluation of Products of Animal Origin (LAPOA), supporting several researchers from UFPB and other institutions in molecular analyzes involving PCR, quantitative PCR, serology, high-performance sequencing on the Illumina Miseq platform. He serves on the Management Committee of the CAPES-PrInt UFPB project, and coordinates the project "Omics sciences applied to the prevention of antimicrobial resistance at the human-animal-environment interface and to the promotion of health and food safety in the Caatinga: a One Health approach".
