Camilo Braz is Associate Professor IV of Anthropology, professor of the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology (PPGAS) and the Postgraduate Program in Sociology (PPGS), at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FCS) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG ). He is currently Research Coordinator at FCS/UFG. He was coordinator (2015-2016) and deputy coordinator (2021-2022) of PPGAS/UFG. He is currently a level 2 Research Productivity Fellow at CNPq. He is editor of the Revista Sociedade e Cultura (UFG) and was associate editor of the Revista Brasileira de Ciências Sociais (RBCS). He is an effective member of the Brazilian Anthropology Association (ABA), having served on its Board of Directors (2021-2022), Scientific Council (2016-2020), Scientific Communication and Dissemination Committee (2021-2022), Gender and Sexuality Committee (since 2013), of which he was deputy coordinator in the 2015-2016 biennium and also on the Anthropology and Health Committee (2023-2024). He is coordinator of CORPORA - Center for Anthropology of the Body, Perception and Health and researcher at Ser-Tão, Center for Teaching, Extension and Research in Gender and Sexuality, at UFG. He has a degree in Social Sciences (Anthropology), a master's degree in Social Anthropology and a PhD in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a doctoral internship at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). He completed a postdoctoral degree in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He is a member of the Red del Laboratorio Iberoamericano para el Estudio Sociohistórica de las Sexualidades (RED LIESS). He was a member of the Special Advisory Group of the CAPES International Relations Directorate. He is an ad hoc reviewer for Fapesp (São Paulo State Research Support Foundation), CAPES, CNPq and various scientific journals. He has experience in the areas of Anthropology and Sociology, working mainly on the following topics: Urban Anthropology, Anthropology of the Body, Anthropology of Gender Relations and Sexuality, Anthropology of Health.
