I obtained a bachelors degree in Physics at the University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil, and my PhD at the University of São Paulo (USP), also in Brazil. Ive been a visiting scholar at the Institute for Fusion Studies of the University of Texas at Austin (USA) and often at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPIPKS) in Dresden, Germany. Ive held research or faculty positions at: the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern, Germany; the Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in Pato Branco, Brazil; and the University of Würzburg, in Germany, my current position.
