Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Instituto de Geociências (IG) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Geological Engineer (1989) graduated from the Federal University of Ouro Preto, with a Master's degree (1992) and PhD in Geology (1999) from the University of Brasília, including a sandwich doctorate period at the Colorado School of Mines and the United States Geological Survey (1997-1999). She served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Brasília (2000-2002), a Postdoctoral Researcher (05/2002-04/2003), and a Professor at the Institute of Geosciences at UNICAMP (04/2003-10/2005). She also worked as a Volunteer Collaborating Professor at the Institute of Geosciences at UNICAMP (11/2005-11/2009). Currently, she is a Professor at the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Brasília (Permanent Staff). She has held the positions of Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Geology (IG-UnB), Director of Postgraduate Studies, and Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Brasília. She was a member of the Advisory Committee for Geosciences (CA-GC) of CNPq (01/07/2020 to 30/06/2023). As of 27/06/2023, she joined the Superior Council of the Foundation for Research Support of the Federal District (FAPDF).Her work in the field of Geosciences focuses on new approaches to processing, interpreting, and spatial analysis of multisource data, applied to the understanding of the Geodynamics of Precambrian Terranes and Associated Mineral Systems. She has dedicated herself to studying the footprint of mineral deposits, especially through applying petrophysical, spectroradiometric, geochemical, and isotopic data, within an integrated geological perspective combined with geophysical data. Among various innovations, she has also worked with the inversion of gamma spectrometric data, and her research group has recently registered the software.Adalene Silvas work contributes towards the following global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 9 - Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through the strengthening of scientific research and the implementation of technological capabilities that promote inclusion within an Industry 4.0 framework; SDGs 1 and 5, whose strategies promote poverty eradication by fostering local development to support industry investments that accelerate poverty eradication actions and encourage the full and effective participation of women in leadership roles in the area of interest.Over the years, she has collaborated with national researchers (USP, UNICAMP, UNESP, UFMG, UFPR, UFPA, Brazilian Geological Survey, Vale, AngloGold Ashanti, Anglo American) and international researchers (Colorado School of Mines, USGS, Queens University, CSIRO, CET-UWA). She has received research funding from CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP, FAPDF, USGS (USA), WISC-AAAS Program - NSF (Women International Science Collaboration - American Association for the Advancement of Science - National Science Foundation), Petrobras Environmental Program, and Vale (GAEMF and DITV and AngloGold Ashanti.). She has supervised/co-supervised 38 master's dissertations, 11 doctoral theses, 30 scientific projects for undergraduate students, 4 post-doctoral researchers, and numerous undergraduate final projects. She holds a 1B productivity fellowship from CNPq (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
