Sabine Righetti

Birthplace: Brazil

Researcher and professor at Labjor-Unicamp, dedicated to understanding how science is produced, communicated, and perceived by society. She serves as the coordinator of FAPESP's Media Science Program and is a co-founder of the Bori Science Dissemination Agency. She holds a masters degree and a PhD in Science and Technology Policy from Unicamp, with visiting research positions at the University of Michigans School of Education (as a Knight Fellow in 2012) and Stanford Universitys Graduate School of Education (as a Lemann Fellow in 2017). In 2014, she was an Eisenhower Fellow and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at PPGI IBICT-UFRJ (2023-2024). As a professor, supervises research in the Specialization in Scientific Journalism program at Labjor-Unicamp and in the Postgraduate Program in Scientific and Cultural Dissemination at Unicamp. She leads the research group #TemCiencianoBR: Brazilian Scientific Production and Its Dissemination and oversees various research projects. She is a member of the Advisory Board of RUF-Folha and the Unicamp Science Museum, and previously served on the Jeduca Committee (Association of Education Journalists). Additionally, she has worked as a consultant for the CNE and Inep-MEC. As a science journalist, she has received numerous awards, including the Prêmio José Reis de Divulgação Científica (2023), Prêmio Folha (2013 and 2015), Prêmio Estácio de Jornalismo (2013 and 2016), Jornalistas especialistas (2015 and 2016). She was also a finalist for the Einstein +Admirados em ciência, saúde e bem-estar (2022 and 2023) and Prêmio Jabuti (2010).
