Graduated in Agricultural Engineering at Universidade Federal de Pelotas (1988), Masters in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Campinas (1993) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2003). He is currently full professor of the Federal University of Pelotas, researcher at the Embrapii InovaAgro-UFPel unit and at the Innovation Center for Technological Innovation in Agricultural Machinery and Equipment (NIMEq) UFPel. Head of the Graduate Program in Agricultural Production Systems for Family Farming of the Federal University of Pelotas between the years of 2014 and 2018, where is a permanent professor and has already supervised ten master's and 11 doctoral students. Has experience in the area of agricultural machinery, with emphasis in machine test and design, working on the following topics: seed and fertilizer meters, seeders, precision planters, low powered machines, safety in the use of agricultural machinery, design methodology, spraying technology, tractors and soil-machinery interaction.
