Wilma Lelis Barboza

I hold a degree in Medicine from the University of Taubaté (1990), with a specialization in Ophthalmology accredited by the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (1994), further specializing in Glaucoma at FMUSP (1997), and completing a doctoral program in Ophthalmology at the University of São Paulo (2000). Currently, I serve as a collaborating physician in the glaucoma department at the Hospital das Clínicas FMUSP and as a surgeon at Hospital de Olhos do Vale. Additionally, I am a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Taubaté. I served as the President of the Brazilian Glaucoma Society (2017-2019) and the President of the Latin American Glaucoma Society (2021-2022). I am presently serving as the President of the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (2024-2025), having previously held the position of Secretary (2022-2023). My primary focus lies in both clinical and surgical aspects within the field of glaucoma. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
