Silvane Aparecida da Silva

Silvane Silva holds a PhD in Social History from Catholic Pontifical University of São Paulo ((PUC/SP, 2019) with the thesis "The protagonism of quilombola women in maroon communities in the State of São Paulo (1988-2018), a master?s in Social History from the PUC/SP (2008), with the dissertation Racism and Sexuality in the Representations of Blacks and Mestizas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Brazilian Literature and a bachelor`s graduation in History from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 2003). Has worked as a teacher in the public school system for 15 years and also as an educational coordinator of the Pedagogical Nucleus of the Educational Bureau of the city of Santos Region, being responsible for the formation of teachers in Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations, Native American Education, Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture (2006-2011).Has worked too in the Social Educational Inclusion Center of the State Secretariat of Education and as coordinator of Quilombola School Education (2012-2017) and vice-president from the Quilombola School Education Council of the State of São Paulo (2014-2017). Researcher associated with the Center of African and Diaspora Cultural Studies (CECAFRO - PUC / SP) and member of the Study Group on Education at Education College of São Paulo University (FEUSP). Visiting researcher at the Center for Latin American Studies of University of Florida, grantee of the Academic Development Program Abdias Nascimento (CAPES) in 2018. Still working as a researcher and teacher in education courses, on themes related to Afro Brazilian History and Culture and Education for Ethnic-Racial relations. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
