Adeney de Freitas Bueno

Adeney de Freitas Bueno has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Faculdade de Agronomia Manoel Carlos Gonçalves - UNIPINHAL (1998), a master's degree in Agricultural Entomology from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP/Jaboticabal, SP) (2001) and a PhD in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (USP/Ribeirão Preto, SP) (2004). He completed a sandwich doctorate in 2003 at the University of Nebraska, USA (2003), as a Fulbright scholarship holder. He has worked as an entomology researcher at Embrapa Soja with Integrated Pest Management and Biological Control since 2006, where he also served as Head of Research and Development of the Unit for 2 years between 2022 and 2024. He is a 1D research productivity fellow from CNPq, full member of the Brazilian Academy of Agricultural Science (ABCA) and associate editor of the scientific journals Entomologia Generalis, CABI Agriculture and Biosciences Journal, and Neotropical Entomology. He also works as a professor and advisor for master's and doctorate courses in the postgraduate programs in Entomology at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and Agronomy at the State University of Londrina. He is the author of several Entomology books and more than 140 articles published in scientific journals. He presided over the XVI Biological Control Symposium (Siconbiol) in Londrina, Paraná, in 2019 with 800 participants which was held from 11 to 15 August 2019 in Londrina, PR and the IX Brazilian Soy and Mercosoja Congress which was held in 2022 in Foz do Iguaçu with 1800 participants. He is currently carrying out a post-doctorate at the University of Catania, Italy together with professor Dr. Antônio Biondi in the area of #8203;#8203;botanical insecticides.
