Birthplace: Cuba

Mr. Pérez holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. degree in Process Engineering from the University of Oriente, Cuba, where he developed brown algae to alginate conversion technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomass Thermoconversion Systems from the University of Campinas, Brazil. Mr. Peréz has taught postgraduate courses on Experiment Planning and Chemical Process Scale-up in Cuba, Nicaragua and Spain. Responsible for the design and marketing project of magnetizers for heat exchangers. He worked as a consultant on thermal energy optimization to many companies in the sugar and alcohol and food industries. Significant management experience in the food industry.
