Ademilson has a Bachelor in Oceanography, with MS and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering at the University of São Paulo. From 1996 to 2000, he was professor and researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande on marine pollution and aquatic toxicology. In 2001, in the Brazilian Ministry of Environment had a position at the National Coastal and Marine Management Program, working with public policies, coastal planning and leading projects in the Brazilian coast. Since 2008 to 2017, worked at the Institute of Energy and Environment (IEMA), a non-profit organization focused on energy and climate change.
