Ricardo Gaiotto de Moraes is an adjunct professor (Associate Professor equivalent) of Brazilian Literature in the Department of Vernacular Language and Literature and in the Postgraduate Program in Literature at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), and a guest researcher at Sorbonne University (Paris IV), at CRIMIC (Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires sur les Mondes Ibéro-américains Contemporains). He holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Literary Theory and History and a Bachelor's degree in Portuguese Languages and Literature from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). During his doctorate, he was a visiting researcher at Princeton University, with a grant from the São Paulo Research Foundation. His research focuses on the relationship between literary criticism, cultural essays and the sociability networks of writers in the first half of the 20th century in Brazil, with an emphasis on the work of Mário de Andrade and Sérgio Buarque de Holanda. He has also dedicated himself to the study of community figurations and the reception of contemporary Brazilian literature. He is the leader of the research group Pathways and workings of contemporary literary and cultural productions, a member of the Literature and Linguistics Research Center (NUPILL) and of the Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies research line at UFSC. He has published several articles in academic journals such as Estudos Avançados, O Eixo e a Roda, Revista do IEB, AdMIRA and outra travessia. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
