Antonio Salatino

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (1971). Got master's degree (1977) and PhD (1979) in Biological Sciences, in the area of #8203;#8203;Botany, at the University of São Paulo. Conducted postdoctoral programs at the Universities of Texas (Austin) and Georgia (Athens). Achieved the position of Free Professorship in 1989. He was President of the Graduation Committee of the Biosciences Institute at USP in the period 1991-1995. Achieved the position of Full Professorship at the USP Biosciences Institute in 1998. He was head of the Botany Department at the USP Biosciences Institute (IBUSP) and coordinator of its postgraduate program. He was editor-in-chief of the Brazilian Journal of Botany and has been a member of editorial boards of national and international scientific journals. He is currently Senior Professor at the Department of Botany at IBUSP. He is a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo. He was included by the Stanford Survey among the 249 most influential USP researchers in world science in 2023. Has worked in chemotaxonomy, chemical ecology, molecular phylogeny and applied botany, involving research of seed oils, medicinal plants, phenolic substances and propolis. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
