Alexandre Tomio

graduated in Geology at the University of São Paulo (1996), Master in Mineral Resources Politics and Administration (mineral legislation of the MERCOSUR) from the State University of Campinas (1999) and PhD in Geosciences (Sedimentary Geology - Paleoglaciotectonic Structures), University of São Paulo (2004). He is currently an analyst of science and technology, of the INPE, acting since Mar/2020 in the Institutional Affairs Office, with national & international cooperations. Before acted from Feb/2014 to Mar/2020 in the International Affairs Office of the MCTI, where was Technical Adviser (DAS 102.3). From Oct / 2012 to Jan / 2014 was granted to the INEP / MEC to be the General Coordinator of the National System of Basic Education Evaluation (DAS 101.4). Between Nov / 2010 to Oct / 2012, served in the MCTI's General Coordination of Meteorology, Climatology and Hydrology, where he was deputy general coordinator and helped to create the National Center for Monitoring and Alerts of Natural Disasters - CEMADEN. Between Nov / 2008 and Nov / 2010 worked in the INEP / MEC, when he contributed significantly to manage the crisis generated by the attempted fraud in Enem 2009, and was designated as technical executor of emergency contract and later joined the monitoring team to operationalize the Enem, Enade and Encceja 2010. From Nov / 2008 to Nov / 2010, worked at the Department of Climate Change and Environmental Ministry of the Environment Quality - MMA, as a specialized technical adviser. He has experience in the areas of Geosciences and Environmental Management, with emphasis on Glacial Geology (Paleoclimatology), Natural Disasters, Brazilian Antarctic Program (PROANTAR), Climate Change, Carbon Credits, Basic Education Evaluation, Biofuels, Air Quality Management, Hydrology , Contingency Plans Spills Oil, Environmental Audit, Mining in seafloor, protection programs for the Ozone Layer, Mineral and Environmental Law, Politics and Economics and International Cooperation in S, T & I. Was Co-National Project Manager of Brazil in the Programme for International Student Assessment - PISA / OECD in 2013. He represented MMA in forums and national and international meetings (eg: MERCOSUR's Ad Hoc Group on Air Quality and 57 Environmental Protection Committee Navy of the International Maritime Organization - IMO, in London) and the Brazilian government in the First Meeting on IMO GHG emission generated by ships in Oslo (2008). Moreover, assisted in the production, design and evaluation of various public policies, such as the National Plan of Air Quality, the proposed new phase Proconve, the VII Sector Plan for Water Resources, the Brazil- Argentina Proposal to HCFCs and the National Policy on Protection and Civil Defence. Member of the Committee that organized the "Seminar on Antarctic Research" (from 2000 to 2003). As a researcher, worked on various scientific projects, including in inhospitable regions, such as King George Island (Antática, 1996, 1997 and 2003) and Hagafellsjökull-Eystri (Iceland, 2002). Among the major projects that worked, are: (1) "Palaeoclimatic changes in Antarctica during the Cenozoic" (MMA-PROANTAR CNPq-Prof. Dr. Paulo Roberto dos Santos)", (2) "Late Paleozoic glaciation outside the Parana Basin (FAPESP, Proc.: 2000/12125-2 Prof. Dr. Antonio Carlos Rocha -Campos, IGc-USP), and (3) "Tertiary Sedimentation in King George Island, Antarctica" (CNPq-PROANTAR,. 67.0011/93 and 48.0267/00-6 Prof. Dr.Paulo Roberto dos Santos). Has 4 international articles (Qualis / CAPES: International A), 1 national article (Qualis / CAPES: International B), 2 abstracts in national scientific journal , 5 works presented in international congresses, 1 work presented in a national congress and 8 works presented in national scientific meetings (workshops, scientific meetings and workshops).
