Douglas Henrique Cardoso Cortez

PhD in Biotechnology and Bioscience at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2018). Master's degree in the same area and institution (2013). Mayor´s Degree (2002) and Bachelor's Degree (2003) in Biological Sciences by the Federal University of São Carlos. Teacher in Elementary and High School in Sciences and Biology (2004-2011). Experience in Microbiology, Phycology and Mycology in projects with bioprocesses in submerged cultures in agitated tank, airlift and fixed bed bioreactors. Knowledge in the production, extraction, chemical and physico-chemical characterization of extracellular and cell walls polysaccharides, besides mastering tools of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. Currently works in biotechnology projects of Biotechnology with the development of bioprocesses, with emphasis on the production of bioactive polysaccharides such as native fungal chitosan.
