Professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine, School of Medicine, University of São Paulo (FMUSP), since 2010. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1992), a Master's degree in Anthropology (1996), and a PhD in Sociology (2001) from the same university. She completed her Postdoctoral studies (2003) and obtained her Habilitation (Livre-Docência, 2016) at the University of São Paulo. Former Assistant Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Santos Campus (20052010). Visiting Scholar at the Centre of Latin American Studies, University of Cambridge, UK (2017). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Public Health at FMUSP (CAPES Rating: 7) from 2018 to 2020 and from 2020 to 2022. Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine (20232025). Currently serves as Chair of the Graduate Studies Commission at FMUSP (2024 ) and Vice Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine (2025 ). CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (Level 2) since 2011. Leader of the CNPq Research Group Health, Intersectionality, and Social Markers of Difference (SIMAS) since 2018. Associate Editor of the journals Ciência Saúde Coletiva and Revista de Saúde Pública. Member of the Committee on Social Sciences and Humanities in Health of ABRASCO (2013 2016; 2023 ). Her work lies in the field of Public Health, with expertise in the Social Sciences in Health, conducting research on the following topics: sociocultural aspects of health and illness processes; gender, masculinities, and health; vaccine hesitancy; sexuality and HIV prevention; intersectionality and social processes in health; and qualitative research applied to health.
