Full Professor at the Department of Physics of the Federal University of Sergipe (DFS/UFS). Bachelor's degree in Physics (USP, 1997) and Ph.D. in Physics (USP, 2002), Master's in Protection against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Events (CBRNe) from the Università degli Studi di Roma - Tor Vergata (UNIROMA2, Italy, 2022). She was a Scientific Initiation Scholarship holder by CNPq (1995 to 1997) at LACIFID - Laboratory of Ionic Crystals, Thin Films, and Dating, Institute of Physics, USP, and a Doctorate Scholarship holder (1997-2002) at the Department of Nuclear Physics, USP. She was a FAPESP Post-doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Physics, USP (2002-2003), CNPQ DCR Fellow at UFS (2003-2005), and CAPES Fellow for post-doctoral studies in Nuclear Engineering at the Università di Pisa (UNIPI), Italy (2011). Since 2009, she has been a PQ Fellow of CNPq (PQ 2 Fellow from 2009 to 2012, PQ 1C Fellow from 2012 to February 2024 and PQ 1B since March 2024). She is a faculty member of the Doctorate in Research in Industrial Engineering (Nuclear Energy and Industrial Safety curriculum) at Università di Pisa (UNIPI, Italy) and is part of the Board of Directors of the Master's Program in CBRNe Event Protection at UNIROMA2, Italy. She is also a member of the International Solid State Dosimetry Organization (ISSDO, USA), the Sergipe Science Association (ASCi), the Brazilian Society of Physics (SBF), the Brazilian Society of Radiological Protection (SBPR), and the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC). She was the General Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Physics (SBF) (2021-2023), Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Physics at UFS (2017-2019), and a member of the SBF Medical Physics Area Committee (2014 and 2019). She is currently an SBF Counselor and a member of the SBF Medical Physics Area Committee. She also serves as a professor in the Radiodiagnosis Residency Program at the University Hospital of the Federal University of Sergipe since March 2020. She received the Most Valued Reviewers of 2011 award from the scientific journal Radiation Measurements by Elsevier. She has been a Researcher at the Sergipe State Foundation for Research and Technological Innovation (FAPITEC) since 2007. She is an Expert in the Laurea Magistrale in Nuclear Engineering course (2007, UNIPI, Italy) "Cultore della Materia per gli insegnamenti Misure Nucleari, Applicazioni Mediche delle Tecnologie Nucleari e Radioprotezioni." Since 2020, she has been a member of the Permanent Commission for Internationalization of UFS (COMPIN) and the Coordination Committee of the Institutional Program of Scholarships for Technological Development and Innovation Initiation (COMPIBITI) of the Coordination of Innovation and Technology Transfer - CINTTEC of UFS. She collaborates with several national and international educational and research institutions, such as USP, UNICAMP, UFPE, IPEN/CNEN, CRCN/CNEN (Brazil), and Yale University (USA), Università di Palermo, UNIPI, and UNIROMA2 (Italy), University of Silesia (Poland), and companies such as CHIYODA TECHNOL (Japan), SIT SORDINA, and CAEN (Italy), and RADOSYS (Hungary). Her main research interests include radiation detectors, biodosimetry, materials characterization, ionizing radiation metrology, and the use of UV light for environmental disinfection.
