Marcos Antonio Couto dos Santos

Graduated in Physics (Bachelor) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (1984), Master in Physics at the Federal University of Pernambuco (1986) and PhD in Physics at the Federal University of Pernambuco (1992). He is currently full professor at the Department of Physics of the Federal University of Sergipe and collaborator of the Laboratoire de Photonique d'Angers/Université d´Angers/France. He has expertise in the area of condensed matter physics, with emphasis on photophysical properties of solids containing lantanide ions and develops research especially on the following themes: Crystal-field models, simple overlap model (SOM) and method of equivalent nearest neighbors (MENN).
