Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a Bachelors degree in Medical Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University (UNESP) - Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2000). I completed my Masters degree in 2006 and Ph.D. in 2013 in Sciences at the University of São Paulo's Faculty of Medicine. I have developed research projects at the Institute of Tropical Medicine of São Paulo - USP, and worked as a Clinical Research Monitor at the University of São Paulos Hospital das Clínicas from 2014 to 2019. Currently, I am a Senior Analyst in the Research and Development sector of the Clinical Laboratory at Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital.I have extensive experience in Microbiology, utilizing molecular biology techniques for the molecular characterization of viral genomes, and studying Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) and microRNAs associated with viral infections, particularly chronic and acute liver diseases (hepatopathies). In 2019, I led the development of a metagenomic protocol for detecting microorganisms in various types of samples. This protocol is applicable not only for clinical diagnostics of infections but also for monitoring pathogens present in environmental samples within the context of the One Health approachan integrated perspective that recognizes the connection between human, animal, plant, and environmental health.
