Ana Paula da Luz is graduated in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of Lorena (2004), earned her Masters in Materials Engineering from the School of Engineering of Lorena (EEL - USP) (2006) and PhD in Science and Materials Engineering from UFSCar (2010). She attended of an internship at the École Nationale Superieure de Ceramique Industrielle - France in 2008, for a period of 6 months, becoming a PhD student at the International Federation for Refractive Research and Education (FIRE). She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Materials Engineering Department (DEMa - UFSCar) between 2010 and 2013, developing activities in the Materials Microstructure Engineering Group (GEMM) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli. Later she worked as a researcher at DEMa - UFSCar, developing projects related to the design of refractories for the petrochemical and steel industry. Currently, she is a Assistant Professor at DEMa UFSCar and she is a researcher at the Multidisciplinary Studies Group in Ceramic Engineering (GEMEC). She has received seven international awards: Bernhard Gross Award (2023), Best Biannual Paper of the Journal European Ceramic Society (2019), Alfred Allen Award - USA (2017), ALAFAR Congress - Chile and Colombia (2016 and 2018), Italian Ceramic Technology Award - Italy (2015), Gustav Eirich Award - Germany (2014); and 5 national awards both at the 63, 65-66 and 67 Congresso Brasileiro de Ceramica. She has 1 book written in English and published / edited in Germany by the publisher Goller Verlag (with translation to the farsi and re-edition in Iran) and more than 100 articles published in international and national magazines of high recognition in the area of #8203;#8203;ceramic materials. She works in the area of #8203;#8203;Materials Engineering, in the development and coordination of projects, and her main research efforts are focused on the processing and characterization of ceramic materials, geopolymers and advanced binders, formulations of ceramic materials, additive manufacturing of ceramic materials, refractory ceramics, among others .
