Oscar Fontão de Lima Filho graduated from ESALQ / USP and completed his Master's and Doctorate degree in Science (Mineral Nutrition of Plants / Nuclear Energy in Agriculture) at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA/USP). He did two post-doctorates: Center of Agricultural Sciences (CCA) at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and CENA/USP. He was a professor of phytotechnics at the State University of Londrina (UEL). He was a researcher at Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste, Dourados, MS. He is currently a researcher at Embrapa Hortaliças, Brasília, DF. He works in the area of Agronomy, with emphasis on Mineral Nutrition of Plants, Nutritional Physiology and Soil Fertility. In his professional activities he interacted with more than 200 collaborators in co-authorship of research papers and publications in general. Terms related to his research work include: nutritional physiology, growth analysis, fertilization, soil fertility, silicon, silicates, green manure, cover plants, production, productivity, nutrients, visual diagnosis, foliar diagnosis, hydroponics, soybeans, sugarcane , stevia, coffee, pigeon pea, leucaena, corn, beans, wheat, oats, sweet sorghum, jatropha, chickpeas, peas, lentils, mate, phenols, disease resistance.
