André Pimenta Freire

André Pimenta Freire is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA). He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of York, England. He works in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction and Information Systems, with research applied to Digital Government, E-Learning, Health Informatics, among others. He has worked on several research projects and produced various publications related to the development and evaluation of interactive technologies based on the principles of inclusive design, and methods for improving usability, accessibility, and user experience in various contexts and organizations. He is a permanent faculty member of the Master's Program in Computer Science. He worked in the Professional Master's in Public Administration at UFLA from 2015 to 2023. Currently, he is co-editor-in-chief of the INFOCOMP Journal of Computer Science at UFLA and was an associate editor of iSys - Brazilian Journal of Information Systems of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) between 2017 and 2021, of which he is an associate editor. He coordinated research projects funded by agencies such as CNPq, FAPEMIG, FAPESP, CAPES, and FINEP. He is a member of the program committees for several major conferences in the area of Computer Science, and has experience as a reviewer for more than 40 national and international scientific journals. He was a member of the Special Commission on Information Systems (CESI) of the SBC from 2017 to 2021, and has been a member of the Special Commission on Human-Computer Interaction (CEIHC) of the SBC since 2020. He has represented Brazil on the Technical Committee on Human-Computer Interaction (IFIP TC13) of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) since 2022. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
