Joao Tomas de Abreu Carvalhaes

He holds a degree in Medicine from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1973) and a PhD in Nephrology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1981). He is currently a member of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology and a member of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Pediatrics, especially Pediatric Nephrology, working mainly on kidney diseases and high blood pressure in children and adolescents. He was an adjunct professor at the Federal University of São Paulo, was advisor of the Postgraduate Program in Pediatrics and Sciences Applied to Pediatrics since 1989 and head of the Pediatric Nephrology Sector since 1978. He presents several publications in indexed journals, in addition to 28 chapters published in textbooks and a book.
