Arthur Rinaldi Ferreira

Graduated in Music by São Paulo State University (UNESP) (2004), master's degree and PhD in Music also by UNESP (2007 and 2014, respectively). Has recevied the first prize at the "First National Composition Competition for Brazilian Percussion Instruments" (2008) and the FUNARTE Classical Music Prize (2010). His compositions have been performed at national and international events such as: Campos do Jordão Winter Festival, 48th New Music Festival, International New Music Simposium, International Percussion Festival of Curitiba and International Winter Festival of UFSM. Has extensive experience as a Music professor, having lectured at prominent brazilian institutions, such as UNESP, Faculdade Santa Marcelina, São Paulo City Music School and Parana School of Music and Fine Arts. His research work is mainly on Music Theory and Analysis, with focus on the study of formal organization on contemporary music and also onthe study of relations between musical discourse and verbal language. Currently is a faculty member at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) and visiting professor/advisor at UNESP´s Music Graduate Music Program. Is a member or the organizing committee of the projetcs MusiCuriosos and Gestações Musicais. Is head of the Laboratório de Arte Sonora (Sound Art Laboratory) of UFSM.
