Received the title of Ph.D. in Information Sciences - Optimization in 1995 from the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield (Thesis: "Algorithms for Large Sparse Constrained Optimization"), in collaboration with the Numerical Analysis Group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, in England, with the diploma revalidated by UFMG as Computer Science. Obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science - Numerical Analysis in 1985 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC/RJ, and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Newton de Paiva Ferreira Cultural Institute, Belo Horizonte, MG in 1981.Additional Courses: From 1987 to 1988, completed the required credits and passed the qualifying exam to begin work on a doctoral thesis in Systems and Computer Engineering at COPPE - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). From 1981 to 1982, took regular courses as a student in the Bachelor's program in Statistics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Belo Horizonte, MG, and completed various short courses in statistics, computer science, and distance education.Currently (since March 2008), holds the position of Associate Professor - MS3 in the permanent faculty of the Faculty of Technology (FT) (formerly the Center for Superior Technological Education - CESET) at the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP. In 2019 and 2020, served as associate coordinator of the courses in Technology in Systems Analysis and Development and Bachelor of Information Systems. From April 2002 to February 2008, worked as a professor in the Technological Superior Teaching Career (MTS) in the temporary faculty of the same Faculty. She was also a professor at the Catholic University of Santos (UNISANTOS) from February 1999 to December 2001.Additionally, she served as an Associate Researcher funded by CNPq (Postdoctoral) assigned to the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing (IMECC) at UNICAMP from March 1995 to August 1997, working on the project "Large-Scale Nonlinear Optimization," and completed a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship at UNESP in Rio Claro in 1998, working on the project "Optimal Control Applied to Biomechanics." From April 1987 to December 1988, she was a Research Fellow at the Center for Electric Power Research (CEPEL) in Rio de Janeiro, where she developed optimization software for power systems. Her current areas of expertise include Scientific Simulation Software, Numerical Analysis, Mathematical Modeling and Statistics, System Optimization, Data Science, Sustainable Energy, and Technological Education.
