Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

She has PhD and Master degrees in Astronomy from University of São Paulo. Post-doctorates at the University of Harvard (with the prestigious scholarship granted by BID to 20 researchers of the University of Sao Paulo), and University of Berkeley (USA). She was also awarded a position as Associate-Researcher at International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste (ICTP), Italy. She has been Visiting professor at several institutions including the Universities of Princeton, Wisconsin, Autónoma de Mexico, Pisa, and Jerusalem, and the Observatories of Nice, Paris-Meudon, Arcetri and Bologna. She is a Full Professor at the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences, University of São Paulo (IAG/USP). She has been a Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences since 2020 and a Full Member of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) since 2023. Her distinctions include the Jabuti Award for Scientific Book and the Claudia Prize for Women in Science (2017). She is a Brazilian PI in the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) Collaboration and the Brazilian PI of the ASTRI Mini-Array (a CTAO precursor). She serves on the Steering Committee of the Southern Wide-field Gamma-ray Observatory (SWGO, 2024present) and previously served on the Steering Committee of the IUPAP Astroparticle Physics Commission. She has coordinated four FAPESP Thematic Projects (including a current one) and led the FAPESP Multiuser Project that acquired the Alpha-Crucis Supercluster for the Laboratory of Astroinformatics (LAi, IAG/USP). She also held leadership roles in graduate education at IAG/USP, including President of the Postgraduate Program and Coordinator of the Department of Astronomy Graduate Program, and served on the Steering Committee of the IAU Interstellar Matter Division. Her professional service also includes reviewing for the Italian Supercomputing Resource Allocation (ISCRA) program and the European Research Council (ERC), and past serving on the CAPES evaluation board. She has led international collaborative projects, including FAPESPUSPHebrew University of Jerusalem, USPPrinceton University, and FAPESPUSPMax Planck initiatives. She contributed to the Planck Satellite Consortium (cosmological studies of cosmic magnetic fields), and has served on executive and advisory committees for major international efforts such as LLAMA (Long Latin American Millimeter Array) and the Gemini/NICI exoplanet campaign (20082013). She has organized and co-organized several international conferences. Her research focuses on high-energy and plasma astrophysics, particularly high-performance computational magnetohydrodynamics, with applications to the interstellar medium, stellar and extragalactic astrophysics, and cosmology. She has authored over 155 peer-reviewed papers in leading astrophysics journals and has supervised award-winning doctoral work, including a CAPES Honors thesis award and three IAG/USP Best Thesis awards in Astronomy. She holds a CNPq Productivity Research Fellowship (Level 1A). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
