Dr. Motta graduated in Biological Sciences (Biomedicina) at Escola Paulista de Medicina (1983), her Master Degree was in Molecular Biology (MSc) at Escola Paulista de Medicina (1987) and her PhD was in Molecular Biology at Escola Paulista de Medicina (1992). She held internship at the Division of Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry - University of Munich (Ludwig - Maximilians) - Germany and her postdoctoral training was at the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) - United States. Dr. Motta's position is currently as Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry at Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM)/Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) and she was Coordinator of the Biological Sciences Course (Biomedicina) at EPM/UNIFESP between 2008-2012. She Coordinated the Structuring Teaching Center (NDE) of the Biological Sciences Course of EPM/UNIFESP between 2011-2017. Dr. Motta's expertise in Biochemistry field is on Protein Chemistry, Intermediate Metabolism and Cell Biology. Her research area expertise is focused on the theme that studies the relationship between the plasma kallikrein-kinin system, plasma (pro)kallikrein (PK/PKa) and kininogens (HK/LK) and fibrinolysis, urokinase (uPA) and its receptor (uPAR), regarding the structure, function and interaction of these proteins with biology of cancer.
