Graduated in Biological Sciences (teaching and bachelor's degrees) from the Federal University of São Carlos (2003/2004), with a Master's (2006) and Ph.D. (2010) in Zoology from the University of São Paulo. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Museum of Zoology of USP (20102012) with FAPESP funding, and another postdoctoral fellowship at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia (2019) with a CNPq grant (PDE). He was president of the II International Symposium on Phylogeny and Classification of Neotropical Fishes held in 2017, treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology from 2013 to 2019, and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences (PPG-CB) at UEL from 2017 to 2019. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal and Plant Biology at the State University of Londrina, a Master's and Ph.D. advisor in the PPG-CB at UEL, editor-in-chief of the journal Neotropical Ichthyology, and a CNPq research productivity fellow. He is also one of the curators responsible for the Vertebrate Collection at the Museum of Zoology of UEL. He has experience in the field of Zoology, with a special interest in Ichthyology, working mainly on the diversity, anatomy, taxonomy, phylogeny, and biogeography of Neotropical fishes.
