She holds a degree in Biological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Food Science with an emphasis on Microbial Biotechnology from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 2010). She completed her first postdoctoral fellowship (20102013, FAPESP) focusing on the application of marine ligninolytic enzymes for the degradation of environmental pollutants, followed by a second postdoctoral fellowship (20132014, CNPq) in the development of genetically modified Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains at CNPEM. She is currently a professor in the undergraduate programs in Biotechnology and Biological Sciences at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA), where she also serves as a graduate advisor in the Postgraduate Programs in Biosciences and Neotropical Biodiversity. She coordinates the graduate program in Biosciences at UNILA and is the curator of the Culture Collection of Microorganisms of Biotechnological and Environmental Interest (CCMIBA). Her research focuses on microbiology, particularly mycology, including biodiversity, ecology, and environmental biotechnology. Her projects involve the isolation and bioprospecting of microorganisms, molecular taxonomic characterization, enzymatic processes, and metabarcoding and metagenomic analyses of soil and aquatic environments.
