Birthplace: Brazil

I developped in Biblioteca Nacional (2021) the research project (PNAP) ?The theater of modernity: the role of the arts in the Brazilian Centennial of Independence Exposition (1922-3) from the collection of the National Library (RJ)". I am a post-doctoral fellow in Audiovisual Media and Processes at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo, with a scholarship from FAPESP. I developed there the research project ?With the voice, the silent cinema: sound, cinema and cultural circulation in Brazil?, a reflection on the uses of sounds in the cinemas of Rio de Janeiro, in the years 1895 to 1916, aiming at understanding the relations that the cinematographic field established with the cultural manifestations of its time, notably literature and theater. I am member of the following CNPq research groups: at UNIFESP, the ?Poetic Investigation Group? (GRIPhO), coordinated by Francine Fernandes Weiss Ricieri; and at UERJ, ?Studies in Literature and Culture of the Belle Époque: LABELLE?, coordinated by Carmem Lúcia Negreiros de Figueiredo. I hold a PhD in Literary Theory and History from the University of Campinas, with a thesis centered on the analysis of chronicle texts about cinema (and related optical devices), published in the Rio de Janeiro press between 1894 and 1922. I am the co-organizer of annotated editions of short story selections by Brazilian writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Lazuli Publishing, 2010, 2013 and 2016), of the collections of articles ?Cinema and History: Circularities, Archives and Aesthetic Experience? (Sulina, 2017) and ?Cinema, Aesthetics, Politics and Dimensions of Memory? (Sulina, 2019), focused on the relations between cinema, literature and history. I am also the coauthor of the translation into Portuguese and critical analysis of the French theatrical melodrama "L'Auberge des Adrets"/"The Inn of the Trampolineers" (Penalux, 2015). I?ve published articles in national and international journals in the fields of literature, film and theater, my three fields of interest, seeking to reflect on their interrelation.
