Wife, married, mother of two children. She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Arido (2003), a Master in Anatomy of Domestic and Wild Animals from Universidade de São Paulo (2006) and a PhD in Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo (2010). She is currently an assistant professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She has experience in the area of Morphophysiology of wild animals, veterinary surgery, with emphasis on anatomy and wild animals. She works mainly in the areas of anatomy and physiology of the otter and mustelidae family, conservation of the neotropical otter (Longicaudis), environmental education and application of anatomical techniques in specimen conservation. She is the Executive Director of the Ekko Brasil Institute, member of the IUCN/SSC Otter Specialist Groupe and is the coordinator of the research group Morphophysiology of the Lontra longicaudis.
