Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas (ICB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2004), a Masters degree (2007) and a PhD (2012) in Sciences (Pharmacology) from the University of São Paulo, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the City of Hope NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (20122017). He works as a preclinical in vivo pharmacologist in immuno-oncology, focusing on developing novel cancer immunotherapies targeting myeloid and T cells. He has extensive experience with various drug modalities, including ADCs (Antibody-Drug Conjugates), ISACs (Immunostimulating Antibody Conjugates), iADCs (immune-stimulating ADCs), T-cell engagers, oligonucleotide therapies, and allogeneic cell therapies (#947;#948;T and iNKT), in both academic and industry settings. With over a decade of experience in molecular and cellular biology, he is proficient in essential cancer immunotherapy research techniques, such as spectral flow cytometry, T-cell assays, ELISA, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry. He is also well-versed in human tumor xenograft models, syngeneic mouse models, and genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs), in addition to developing humanized mouse models using PBMCs and CD34+ cells. He served as the functional pharmacologist lead at Sutro Biopharma for the ADC STRO-003, globally licensed by IPSEN, as well as for the initial conception of iADCs, resulting in a strategic collaboration and licensing agreement with Astellas.
