M.D from the University of São Paulo (1984), PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of São Paulo (1995), MBA in Health Management from INSPER (2010), Associated Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (2015). He has been developing and applying molecular biology methodologies for clinical diagnosis since 1986, having carried out internships in France and the United States on the subject. He completed his PhD in Biochemistry at USP, on the expression of Mycobacterium leprae antigens in yeast. He developed research projects in these areas at the Adolfo Lutz Institute, the USP Tropical Medicine Institute and the Pró-Sangue Hemocentro Foundation in São Paulo. He coordinated the setting up of the Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Jardim Paulista Biochemical Laboratory in 1991, which was one of the first private laboratories in the country to use molecular biology methodologies for diagnosis in clinical pathology. He is currently a Doctor in the Department of Clinical Pathology at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (he coordinated the Special Techniques Laboratory that includes the areas of Molecular Biology, HLA and Genetics until 2021 when he took over the Research and Development Sector) where he develops projects in collaboration with the Ministry Health (PROADI); is responsible for the Laboratory of Gastroenterology and Tropical Hepatology, at the Institute of Tropical Medicine since July 2016, of the Department of Gastroenterology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo; and is Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Central Laboratory Division of the Clinics Hospital of the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He was a member of the Research Ethics Committee of the Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa between July 2012 and October 2017. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
