He is currently Professor at the Program in the Mathematics Education/PUCSP/Brazil and the History of Science/PUCSP/Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. in History of Science and is a research fellow at CESIMA (Simão Mathias Center of Graduate Studies in History of Science, PUC/ Brazil) where he works on the following topics: natural philosophy, natural magic, apparatus and scientific instruments, the idea of experiment and experience, science, technology and mathematics in sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. He has been a department guest at History Department in Stanford University (2007 and 2010), Philosophy and Social Science Department in Università degli Studi di Siena (2007) and Maestria en Enseñanza de las Matemáticas in Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Perú (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019).
