Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of São Paulo - USP (1979), Master's and Doctorate in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology), Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP 1988-1993) and Post-Doctorate in Biochemistry and Protease Enzymology at the University François Rabelais, Tours, France (1995-1996). He worked for eight years at Hoechst do Brasil Química e Farmacêutica (currently Aventis) in the area of new drugs, returning to UNIFESP in 1988. He joined the Biophysics Department at UNIFESP in 1993. Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (UMC), from 1999 to 2006, from 1999 to 2004. Participated in the creation of graduate, master's and doctoral programs in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering at UMC. He returned to Unifesp in full time dedication since 2006 where he was Associate Professor in the Department of Biosciences and advisor in graduation courses in Psychobiology and Molecular Biology. Currently retired, he was the director of the Technological Innovation Center - NIT/UNIFESP from 2015 to 2017, Research Director of the Unifesp Support Foundation (FapUnifesp) from January 2018 to March 2021. Has experience in Biochemistry of Proteases and Synthesis and Activity of Biologically Active Peptides, Molecular Biology, Cellular Proteases, with projects in the areas of Kallikreins, Serpins, Cysteine Proteases, Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 1, Proteolytic Activities in Sleep Deprivation Models, Addiction to Drugs and Hypoxia. He also works in the areas of Innovation Management, Intellectual Protection and Technology Transfer. He was founder and partner of Med-Discovery, Dermadis, Exa-m and Sepia R&D. Currently a partner at Krabs Biotechnology, an startup at UFABC, for the development of monoclonal antibodies in phage display libraries. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
