Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR). Centro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde (CCBS)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Araraquara (2005). Holds a Master's degree in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos (2009) and a Ph.D. in Freshwater Biology and Inland Fisheries from the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA, 2014), with a doctoral exchange program conducted at Curtin University (Perth, Western Australia). In 2015, completed a postdoctoral fellowship through an international collaboration between INPA and the University of British Columbia - UBC (Vancouver, Canada). Currently, she is a permanent professor at Santa Cecília University (Unisanta), where she supervises scientific research within the Graduate Programs in Sustainability of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems (PPG-ECOMAR), Environmental Auditing (PPG-AUD), and Environmental Science and Technology (PPG-CTA). Her research focuses on Aquatic Ecotoxicology in freshwater, estuarine, and marine environments, studying the toxicity of organic and inorganic compounds based on their effects on mortality, biotransformation enzymes, oxidative stress, and the impacts of detoxification processes on the physiology of organisms (e.g., damage to proteins, lipids, and DNA), as well as histopathological changes. She also works in the field of ecophysiology with two main research lines. The first aims to investigate the effects of environmental variations (temperature, pH, oxygen, dissolved organic carbon) on organism physiology, focusing on the combined (synergistic or antagonistic) effects of natural environmental changes and the presence of environmental contaminants. These studies are conducted under both controlled laboratory conditions and field settings. The second research line explores species adaptations, particularly osmoregulatory patterns, in response to natural environmental variations, such as pH and dissolved organic carbon concentrations.
