Graduated in Business Administration from the University of São Paulo (1979), an MBA from the University of São Paulo (1988), and Free-Doctorate teaching (2001) Controlling and Accounting from the University of São Paulo (1996). Professor at the University of São Paulo, the first CEO of the National Association of Graduate Programs in Accounting, editor and editorial board member of several national and international journals. Acts in line with research Controllership and Accounting projects in the areas of business planning, enterprise value, family businesses, performance evaluation and management control. Leads the research group, transformed in the laboratory, called Management Practices of Brazilian Companies. Before 1996 was executive occupying management positions and board in predominantly multinational companies. Member of evaluation committees CAPES area Administration, Accounting and Tourism (2002-2004). Member of Advisory Committee of CNPq Area Administration and Accounting (2010-2013). Editor-in-Chief of the journal Accounting Finance - USP (2011-2013 and 2013-2015). Member of the EAA (European Accounting Association) and representative of South America and the Caribbean in the EAA Board for the period May 2013-May 2016.
