Marcelo Silva Sarandy

Professor in the Institute of Physics at Fluminense Federal University (UFF). B.Sc. in Physics at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1997) and Ph.D. in Physics at the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics (2001). Post-doc positions at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2001-2003), University of Toronto (2003-2005), and University of São Paulo at São Carlos (2005-2006). At UFF as a permanent faculty member since 2006, with a sabbatical research period at the University of Southern California (2015-2016). Research interests include quantum information and condensed matter physics, acting mainly on the following subjects: quantum computation, entanglement, quantum correlations, quantum thermodynamics, and open quantum systems.
