We shall study the galaxy merger process by an approach of dynamical analysis of systems, treating galaxies as compact objects of time-dependent mass. That approach will be compared to the usual models based on fluid dynamics.

We shall study the galaxy merger process by an approach of dynamical analysis of systems, treating galaxies as compact objects of time-dependent mass. That approach will be compared to the usual models based on fluid dynamics.
We shall study the stability of circular orbits of particles subject to small perturbations (radial and vertical), in Newtonian mechanics. The orbits are around a spherical mass distribution surrounded by a disk or others structures. In this study, we will also use, for comparison, the Rayleigh criteria of stability. (AU)
