Machanical Engineer by Escola Politécnica of São Paulo University (EPUSP) in 1983. Master and Doctor in Precision Machinery Systems by Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1988 and 1991, respectivelly. "Livre-Docente" title from EPUSP in 2000, in the field of Manufacturing Automation and Robotics. Currently, is Associate Professor at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of EPUSP. Has experience and works in themes envolving the Precision Mechanics and the Mechatronics. Works in subjects such as: precision motion control, precision positioning, controlled bearings, precision metrology, antomatic measurement and precisiom metrology. Currently is involved in a project aiming the develpment of robotic devices for helping electricians to maintening electric power distribution system. Also participates of a large scale joint project for the development of an artificial heart, being in charge for the development of a magnetic bearing to levitate the rotor of the device.
