Mariana Batha Alonso

Adjunct Professor at the Biophysics Institute Carlos Chagas Filho of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Post-Doctorate by UFRJ (2016-2017, 2013-2014). Post-Doctorate Abroad (PDE) in the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCCWRP), California, USA within the Sciences Without Borders Program (CNPq) in partnership with San Diego State University (SDSU), UFRJ and UERJ (2014-2016). She was a researcher associated to the Laboratory of Aquatic Mammals and Bioindicators of the Faculty of Oceanography of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) (2008-2016). Master of Science in the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (IO-USP) (2008). Graduated in Biological Sciences with bachelor degree and specialization in Marine Biology from Santa Cecilia University (UNISANTA) (2003). She has experience in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Biophysics, Emerging Compounds, Marine Pollution, Applied Ecology, Marine Mammals, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Health. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently, 15 years of experience in scientific research activities with marine mammals, more than 20 scientific articles in international journals and popularization of Science.
