EDUCATION: Cinthia Itiki has graduated in Electricity Engineering - Digital Systems, has obtained her Master's degree and has become Associate Professor at the "Escola Politécnica" of the University of São Paulo (EPUSP), Brazil. She has obtained her Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California, USA. She has pursued post-doctoral studies at the Neuromuscular Engineering Laboratory of the "Politécnico di Torino", Italy. TEACHING: She is a faculty member at the University of São Paulo since 1990 and is currently Associate Professor. ADMINISTRATION: She was vice-chair of the Telecommunications and Control Engineering Department from 2017 to 2021 .RESEARCH: Her main research area is Biomedical Engineering. She has research experience with biomedical signal processing, modeling, classification (linear discriminants, associative memories, neural artificial network, support vector machines), and spectral and time-frequency analysis of cardiac (ECG, arterial blood pressure), neuromuscular (EMG, ENG) and brain (EEG, evoked potentials, hippocampus) signals. She has also interest in the study of movements described by constrained mechanical systems (holonomic and non-holonomic) and the compression of signals recorded by high-density electrode matrices.
