Ana Paula Silva de Azevedo dos Santos

A. P. S. A. Santos graduated in Farmacy by the Federal University of Maranhão, has a Masters degree in Health Science, by the Federal University of Maranhão and Ph.D in Immunology by the University of São Paulo. Currently she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiological Sciences at UFMA in 2007. She is a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Health Sciences (Masters and Ph.D.) and the Graduate Program in Adult Health (Masters). She was the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Health Sciences (2022-2024). She has experience in the field of Immunology applied to Cancer, focusing primarily on studying biological mechanisms associated with the tumor microenvironment. She develops research projects in experimental oncology, emphasizing Dendritic cells, immunoregulation, and penile cancer. She has experience in cell culture techniques and flow cytometry. She was a member of the Biological Sciences Committee - PIBIC from 2014 to 2022 and of the Graduate Program Monitoring and Internationalization Commission (CAPGI) from 2022 to 2024. She was a productivity scholarship holder from FAPEMA (2021-2022) and is currently a productivity scholarship holder from FAPEMA. She is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Immunology (SBI).
