Alexandre Barbosa Pereira is a professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), where he is also affiliated with the Graduate Program in Social Sciences. He holds a Masters degree and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of São Paulo (USP). He earned his undergraduate degree in Social Sciences (Bachelors and Teaching Certification) from the same institution. Additionally, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Institute of Sociology, University of Porto.He coordinates the Study Group on City, Education, Youth, and the Life Course (CIDEJUV) and conducts research in the fields of Urban Anthropology, Anthropology of Education, and Anthropology of Youth, focusing on the following themes: youth cultural practices, urban space, and schooling.
