Has experience in wildlife epidemiology, pathology and rehabilitation, with emphasis in penguins and other seabirds. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine by the University of São Paulo (2008) and Ph.D. in Comparative Pathology by the University of São Paulo (2014). Formerly a post-doc fellow of the Department of Pathology of the University of São Paulo (2015-2016) and of the Marine Apex Predator Research Unit (MAPRU) of the Nelson Mandela University in South Africa (2016-2018). Member of the Wildlife Technical Activity Group of the OIE/FAO Network of Expertise on Animal Influenza (OFFLU), of the Antarctic Wildlife Health Network of the Scientific Committee of Antarctic Research (AWHN/SCAR), of the Penguin Specialist Group of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (PSG-IUCN) and of the Intersessional Group on High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza of the Agreement on the Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels (HPAI-IG/ACAP).
